Privacy Policy

IT STOP (Pvt) Ltd (“we”, “us”) operates itstop.lk and the retail store at Shop 17, 1st Floor, Unity Plaza, Colombo 04, Colombo, Sri Lanka, 00400. If you have any question about this policy or your data, contact us at sales@itstop.lk or 071 451 4514.

We only collect what we need to sell you something and support it afterwards:

• Account details — your name, email address and phone number when you create an account.
• Order details — delivery address, contact number, what you bought and the price you paid.
• Payment proof — if you pay by bank transfer, the slip you upload so our team can verify the payment.
• Repair details — the device, the fault and your contact number when you book a repair.
• Technical data — basic information your browser sends, and cookies needed to keep you signed in and to remember your cart.

We do not store your card number. Card payments are handled entirely by PayHere on their own secure pages — your card details never reach our servers.

Passwords are stored as a one-way cryptographic hash, never as readable text. Nobody at IT STOP — including us — can see what your password is. That is why a forgotten password has to be reset rather than looked up.

• Processing and delivering your orders, and contacting you about them.
• Verifying bank transfers before we release an order.
• Managing your account, saved addresses and order history.
• Handling warranty claims, returns and repairs.
• Sending transactional email — order confirmations, payment updates, password resets and verification codes.

We do not send marketing email unless you opt in, and we never sell your personal information to anyone.

Your information is shared only where it is needed to complete a service:

• PayHere — our payment gateway, for card payments.
• Delivery partners — your name, address and phone number so your order can be delivered.
• Our hosting provider — the website and database are hosted on Hostinger's servers.
• Our in-store system — orders are billed through our point-of-sale system, which holds your invoice record.

Order and invoice records are kept as long as we need them for warranty, accounting and tax purposes. Payment slips are kept with the order they belong to. If you would like your account closed and your personal details removed, email us and we will do it — though we may need to keep the minimum information attached to past invoices that the law requires us to retain.

You can ask us at any time to:

• See what personal information we hold about you.
• Correct anything that is wrong — you can also edit most of it yourself in your account.
• Delete your account and personal details, subject to records we must legally keep.
• Stop sending you marketing messages.

Necessary cookies. A small number of cookies are required for the site to work: keeping you signed in, remembering your cart, and letting you view an order you placed as a guest. These cannot be turned off without breaking the site.

Analytics cookies. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used — which pages people visit, how they arrived, and where they run into trouble — so we can improve it. It sets cookies that recognise a returning browser and collects your approximate location, device and browser type. It does not receive your name, email address or payment details, and we do not use it to identify individual customers. You can opt out for every site with Google's browser add-on, or by blocking analytics cookies in your browser. The shop works normally either way.

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not share your data with advertisers.

The site is served over HTTPS, passwords are hashed, sessions use secure cookies that scripts on the page cannot read, and uploaded payment slips are private — only you and our staff can view them. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical measures to protect your information.
